I had a really exciting time reading a book "黒沢清の映画術 Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Art of Film". Kiyoshi Kurosawa is a Japanese film director, and he talked about his life and work history in this book. For his fans like me, everything he talked is really interesting as well as every film he made is so.
The book is filled with so interesting episodes, especially the episode about his days in Rikkyo Univ. strongly fascinated me. Shigehiko Hasumi, a very influciential critic of film and literature but not so in those days, worked for Rikkyo Univ. Starting with Kurosawa, many talented people happened to encounter his really exciting class, become professional film maker one after another after graduation, and grew Japanese films. People call the days "立教ヌーベルバーグ RIkkyo Nouvelle Vague".
Anyhow, the book is must-read for his fans. And Kurosawa is going to launch his new film "LOFT" and "叫 Sakebi" in succession, I'm really looking forward to watching them.
When I went to a bookstore in my neighborhood, encounterd series of 涼宮ハルヒ books. Though I hadn't been interested in the originals, I couldn't help but buy all of them right in front of me...
Well, I'll enjoy reading them, but I don't have enough time to do, I'm afraid.
Two novels written by 佐藤亜紀 (Aki Sato) and a magazine named "Eureka" featuring 菊地成孔 (Naruyoshi Kikuchi).
First I began reading the latter and found it has plenty of interesting anecdotes on Kikuchi's history that I haven't heard ever. It's must buy for fans of him, I think.
